They were pouring cement for the new curbs today but I don't know whether they will finish today or not.

They hauled all of the dirt and trash out of the overflow lot. It is almost back to normal with the exception of two or three pieces of equipment. I think they will be gone by Tuesday. So you can see we are almost back to normal.

Until Monday

The contractor spent the day making a last minute cleanup around the Park.

The concrete workers were cleaning up all their material that they used for the curbs. They also replaced the concrete wall at bathhouse 2 which they had to remove to work on the lift station in back of bathhouse 2.

Rudy, who remained here to finish up, still says he will be out of here tomorrow. You can see that this is bringing my work to an end soon.

More tomorrow.

Another rainy day here. Last night we had thunder and Lightning plus rain most of the night. Then today at about 1 P M it cut loose with more rain.

It has hampered the work in the park but the contractor was power washing the Overflow lot after the rain. They have what equipment they still have stored there.

If we keep on for a day or two we will have received well over 20,000 hits (visits) on this site) since the work began. It shows that people are watching what we put out. We should really appreciate the work that Warren Beaumont does each day to keep you informed. (Ken Retallick, our Reporter in Paradise, does all the work I just take his text and post it on the VO web site.. Ken works esch day keeping track of the work going on, getting comments frorm the workers, taking pictures and forwarding them. He creates the text and e-mails it and all that is five and six days each week. That's a lot of work.)

I may have more tomorrow.

Things are getting much quieter with the large machinery that the contractor had cleared out. The only things left in the Overflow lot is a rented sprinkler and some equipment belonging to Comcast.

Comcast and Bell South continue working in the park. Comcast is replacing all of the old junction boxes which they had around the park. Bell South workmen are still making connections in holes they have dug in the streets.

That is all that is happening except the work on several new units that are being erected.

At this time I can't tell whether I will have more reports or not. Just check and see.

Hello;
As Ken surmised there was not enough action the last two days to report about.
Tune in on Monday for what may be the final report.

I am sorry to say that this will be the last update on the sewer work. I would like to express my thanks to Kevin and his assistants for all the work they have done during the four months that we have had this work going on. They did a fine job handling things during that period, including the LOBSTER INVASION.

Things are about wrapped up here and Kevin tells me this morning that the contractors will be back in about three week to take care of any things have been neglected.

It has been an experience for me to report each day as I have. Of course I couldn't have accomplished what I did without the help of Warren Beaumont, who each day added my thoughts to the Venture Out site for you to read. There have been times when I thought I could give up but he kept me going.

Even the workers kept me on the ball even though one group called me IN THE WAY KEN, but that wasn't meant as it sounds. They always welcomed me and let me know what they were doing.

Again it has been an interesting experience and I am glad that I could do it. When people return to the park and tell me how much they enjoyed my articles and when I see how many people are accessing the site it also makes me realize that it has been worth it. Even Kevin thanked me this morning for saving him from answering questions.
