FAQ

  • Proceeds from Camp Tracy Adventure Weekends will be used to cover event costs and HOPEFULLY be a little fundraiser to offset costs for our free Venture Out! Friday summer shows in the future. Utah Venture Outdoors is a non-profit organization 501(c)3

  • Space and a picnic table with benches will be provided. You will need to provide all your own camping and cooking gear for your group. Reminder fire is not permitted at your site.

Our Camp Activities that involve ‘gear’ will be included in your experience.

  • To secure a spot on the range of your choice add the range pack to your order. These ranges are $5 per person per range they are not included in the admission price. Make sure to choose a time that you can commit to, because the ranges will fill up and there will not be an option to change your time when you get to camp. The Ropes course is all day access for each individual between 9AM-Noon and 1-5PM. Other expert experiences will have class times and durations so you can plan out your day.

  • No. Upon check-in, a vehicle voucher will be provided to you to cover the National Forest user fee. Present your voucher to the toll-booth attendant upon exiting the canyon.

  • Camp Tracy is in an area where there is VERY little or NO network connection - we aren’t kidding when we say unplug. Cash is recommended to purchase drinks, snacks, and other items that may be for sale.

  • There will be an option to pre purchase food at camp. More information will be coming soon.

  • There is a wide array of activities that are included in the camp activity schedule. The activities are very flexible so you can plan out your own adventure and make sure to get to the activities that appeal to you the most! There is a mix of guided and self guided activities and things that will appeal to different age groups and ability levels. Some activities are time sensitive and some are open all day long.

Please see the “Activity List” tab for specific examples of the activities you can participate in.

  • Most of the programing is fun for all ages however - Fishing, Shooting sports and the Ropes course are for ages 5+.

  • Camp Tracy Weekend Adventures are considered events. There are no refunds if you are unable to make it to camp, but your event registration can be transferred to another party.

This is a rain or shine event.

In the event VO! chooses to cancel the event due to low attendance you will be notified prior and reimbursements will be issued.

  • We ask that you consider carpooling if possible, as parking in the forest is extremely limited. The main parking area is through Gate #5. If the lot is full, there will be signage to direct you to an overflow parking area.

  • The Crossroads of the West council, BSA has generously allowed us to rent their facility for these events, but our adventure weekends and VO! are not affiliated with the BSA. The Ropes course is facilitated by the Crossroads of the West council employees, but all other activities are directed by Venture Out staff with specialized skills and training. You may recognize some iconic Scout camp activities like shooting sports, fishing, and others; which have been made possible in part by the BSA providing training and certifications to allow us to facilitate those activities on their property.

  • Certain activities are scheduled and you must choose a time when you register for that activity (ex. Shooting ranges and terrarium classes). The large majority of activities are open for the entire day and are first come first served. You can plan your own schedule!

  • The BSA does not permit us to use the water features in the camp, like the pool and boating on the lake. There may be some smaller water activities like water tables, squirt guns, or other similar activities but you will not need a swimsuit.

  • Our fishing activities will all take place within the boundaries of Camp Tracy, which is private property, so you do not need a fishing license. If you decide to fish along the river outside of camp boundaries, then you will need a fishing license. You may bring your own fishing gear if you would like, but we do have plenty of gear and bait provided as well.

  • There will be some items for sale at camp such as craft kits, and possible souvenir items. There is also a concessions stand with some snack foods and drinks available for purchase. You will need to bring cash to make those transactions, since cell and internet service is extremely limited at Camp Tracy.

  • Camp Tracy is nestled within the walls of Millcreek Canyon. It is a natural forest area with all types of wildlife. We have frequent encounters with birds, rodents, snakes, bugs, and even larger animals like moose, deer, and bobcats. It is extremely important to respect the wildlife at Camp Tracy and if you see an animal, give it space and do not bother or approach it. Please help us to leave no trace and ensure a safe adventure experience for everyone by following those guidelines.
